Facebook Paper Launch On Apple App Store For iPhone Users In US Tomorrow

Paper app from Facebook will go live on the Apple iTunes App Store for iPhones in the US from February 3, the eve of Facebook’s 10th anniversary. So with a few hours to go before the app goes up for grabs, here is the list of things you need to know about Paper. Firstly, you need to be an iPhone user in the United States to use this app. The app does not have an iPad version till now. At its launch at least the app will be ad-free and it can be downloaded free of charge. The app is the first product to come out of Facebook Creative Labs which was established with the sole purpose of developing new and innovative apps for mobile devices. In the past, Facebook had put in efforts to push for deeper smartphone integration with the Facebook Home but the project could not catch on. So with Paper Facebook has gone for a minimalistic full screen design and horizontal scrolling. We like the concept of horizontal scrolling because it almost effortless as compared to horizontal scrolling. If the app makes it way to android, ‘phablet’ users can easily go through their news feed by using a single hand instead of two.

Facebook Paper 4.

Facebook knows that the most important thing the users like on Facebook is the News Feed and the Paper brings you just that. Paper consists of stories and theme sections which can be customized by the user. Rumours had previously suggested that the app will be just like a news aggregation service but we now know that user stories will also be included. A user will be given the choice of topics ranging from food, science design, sports etc. The content for these sections will be generated by well-known publications as well as “emerging voices”. When these stories pop on the app you will be able unfold them with touch gestures and dive into the story in a full screen format.

Facebook Paper 2.

When it comes to stories from your mates on Facebook, it has tried something new. The app shows a live-preview of how your post will look like. Little things like smarter text are surely appreciated. For example, when someone sends out a shorter text status the font size gets big so that it covers the entire story post and as the status gets longer the font gets smaller. Higher resolution photos are displayed in the app can be explored from corner to corner by tilting the smartphone. When it comes to videos, we presume users will be quite miffed with the auto-play feature. As soon as you scroll to a video it starts playing. This can be a problem when you are using your expensive mobile data connection.

Facebook Paper 1.

In this story we have tried to cram in as much as details possible about the Paper but if you are hungry for more we would suggest you hit the following links: Facebook NewsroomFacebook Paper and have a look at the demonstration video below.

Justin Bieber pal Lil Za charged with three felonies following egg raid bust

Justin Bieber’s pal Lil Za has been charged with three felonies stemming from the egg raid bust at Bieber’s mansion on Jan 15.

Justin Bieber's live-in friend Lil Za has been charged with felony possession of Ecstasy and oxycodone, stemming from his January arrest after a police raid at the "Baby" singer's home.
The aspiring rapper, 20, whose real name is Xavier Smith, has also been charged with a felony for breaking a jail phone while in police custody, TMZ reports. If convicted on all counts, Lil Za could face up to nine years in jail.
Los Angeles police served a search warrant at Bieber's mansion on Jan. 14 related to an alleged egg assault on the pop star's neighbor's house.
Lil Za (right) admitted that the drugs found at Bieber’s mansion were his, while the pop star (left) came up clean during the Jan. 14 raid.

Lil Za had Ecstasy, which police originally thought to be cocaine, "in plain view" of the deputies that conducted the raid. Police said he admitted that the drugs were his, while Bieber came up clean in the search. Meanwhile Bieber appears to be enjoying the Super Bowl festivities in New York despite his own recent run-ins with the law.

The ‘Boyfriend’ singer (right) has been caught in a whirlwind of his own, after being arrested and charged with DUI, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license in Miami.

The "Boyfriend" singer was seen partying at the Maxim magazine party on Friday night, just hours after being held at New Jersey's Teterboro Airport on suspicion of smoking pot on his private jet.
The Canadian pop star was charged earlier in the week with assaulting a limo driver in Toronto from an incident in December, and before that the singer made headlines after being arrested for driving under the influence, with an expired license and resisting arrest on Jan 23.
He pleaded not guilty to those charges and his formal arraignment is set for Valentine's Day.

NDLEA1Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), yesterday apprehended a man found in possession of 107 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards.

He was arrested during a routine search on passengers aboard a Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul
The suspect, who holds a dual identity, was apprehended during an outward screening of the Turkish Airline passengers to Istanbul, Turkey at the airport when the cards were discovered by anti-narcotics officials.

Puerto Rican boxer Christopher Rivera Amaro shot dead

This is super creepy. 23 year old Puerto Rican boxer Christopher Rivera Amaro was shot dead in the city of Santurce on Sunday Jan. 26th and for his wake keep six days later on Friday Jan. 31st, his family decided to prop up his corpse in a simulated ring. Yep, y'all are looking at a corpse.

Hundreds of mourners who came to his wake at the community recreation center within the public housing project where he lived in San Juan found him posed in the ring, a yellow hood on his head, sunglasses glasses over his eyes and blue boxing gloves on his hands.

His family said they want people to remember him as a boxer and not a victim of gun violence.

He's survived by a wife, mother and son. See more photos after the cut...
