He has since been linked with moves to Porto and Chelsea in his homeland, but his father, James, has claimed that the Etihad Stadium will be his next destination.
“As I am talking to you, I have chosen in my mind that Kelechi is going to Manchester United,” he told Super Sport’s Monday Night Football, before appearing to correct himself: “I have told you that he is going to Manchester City.”
He later confirmed to MTNFootball.com that the player’s family made a joint decision on where he would play in a meeting on Monday night: “We prayed [Monday] and after due consultations with family members, we came up with Manchester City believing he has a future there. Zac Efron: "I'm Single"

Zac Efron
Zac Efron is on the market.
The hottie actor confirmed last night that he's not dating anyone right now.
"I'm single," he said at a Yahoo Movies Q&A for his upcoming comedy That Awkward Moment with costars Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller.
The event was Efron's first official public appearance since news broke last month that he did a stint in rehab earlier in the year.
He looked and sounded healthy and happy at last night's event. Efron, who turns 26 on Friday, is in such good shape that Teller said he likes to call him "mini-Wolverine."
While not specifically referring to rehab, Efron did talk about how he gets through difficult times.
"My family is my rock," he said. "I know they're not going anywhere [and] more and more, I've come to rely on my little brother to keep me grounded." (He's not so little—Dylan Efron is 21 years old.)
"And I know my family's always going to be there, but then there's also as life changes sometimes they can't really be there for you in the way that you need, so I rely on my friends," Efron said.
A red band trailer for That Awkward Moment released yesterday not only shows Efron naked, but in a separate scene, he arrives to a party with a rather large, um, sex toy.
That Awkward Moment hits theaters on Jan. 31, 2014.

Laos Airlines plane crash caused by 'wind shear' from Typhoon Nari

The Laos Airlines plane crash that killed all 49 passengers on board was reportedly caused by the wind shear resulting from “remnants of Typhoon Nari”, a Lao Airlines official said.

The wind shear is an atmospheric phenomenon which involves a change in wind speed or/and direction with the change in altitude.

The plane crashed as it “ran into extreme bad weather conditions”, the Laos Ministry of Public Works and Transport said in a statement. The flight QV30149 that was operating an ATR 72-600 twin turboprop engine, was flying from capital Vientiane to town Pakse and crashed few kilometers off its destination on an island near Mekong river on Wednesday.

According to a top aviation official of Laos Airlines, Chalerm Taiyalad, the plane crashed just before landing as it was raining very heavily and the gusts from tail end of Typhoon Nari causd the pilot to lose control of the plane, the CNN reported.

The airline said that of 49 dead, 44 were passengers and the remaining five were crew members.

There were seventeen Laos nationals on board along with others who belonged to France, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Canada, China, Malaysia, Taiwan and the US.
Meanwhile Typhoon Nari, which hit Vietnam's central coast early Tuesday, has claimed 11 lives and flooded tens of thousands of homes.

UCH Ibadan performs first open heart surgery

feat: The surgical team that performed the feat at University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.
The first open heart surgery in a teaching hospital in Nigeria has been successfully carried out at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The feat was carried out by surgeons at the UCH in conjunction with a team of surgeons from Tri-State Cardiovascular Delaware, USA. (The surgical team that performed the feat pictured above)

A statement by the institution’s Head of Information Unit, Mr. Toye Akinrinola, disclosed that the four-hour surgery was to correct a leaking heart valve in a 19-year-old secondary school leaver.

An elated Chief Medical Director of the UCH, Professor Temitope Alonge, noted that the UCH was moved to embark on the exercise as a way of alleviating the hardship being experienced by Nigerians with heart-related challenges.

He stated that as the first teaching hospital in Nigeria, the UCH should take the lead in critical areas of medicine, propelling it into ensuring that complex surgeries (like open heart surgery) were carried out in the hospital.

“We are the pioneer teaching hospital in Nigeria, and we should be taking the lead. We are going to do this and we intend to make it a continuous exercise.

“In fact, within the next six months, we intend carrying out not less than 30 heart-related surgeries and at affordable cost to Nigerians.”

Alonge, who lamented that Nigerians pay exorbitantly to undergo such procedures outside the country, pointing out that the cheapest rate outside Nigeria was about N2.5 million.

“This is outside the airfare and hotel bills. It will run into millions. But with us here, it will be a lot cheaper and the access is there. The first surgery is heavily subsidised as a way of encouraging Nigerians to have confidence in our healthcare system.”

Alonge stated that the Federal Government had given the UCH a mandate to improve on the training of doctors as a way of enhancing more access to adequate healthcare in Nigeria.

Leader of the doctors from the USA, Dr. Kamar Adeleke noted that the patient would be back to his normal activities in less than two months.

“He does not have anything to fear about life expectancy. He will soon resume his normal activities, and do all the things he was used to before he took ill,” Dr. Adeleke said.

Adeleke gave assurance of his continued support to providing access to adequate healthcare as obtained in other developed countries.

After more than a decade of of inactivity, open heart surgery resumed in the country at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, Enugu, at an average cost of N500, 000.

Tiwa Savage - I’m Not What You See On Videos

Tiwa SavageTiwa Savage says she’s not a sex symbol, adding that she’s far from the explicit lyrics and revealing getups that people see on videos.
“I am not a sex symbol at all. If you ask my family and friends, they will tell you that I am not what they see on videos. I am a very laidback person,” Tiwa said.
The Mavin Records first lady in a chat with P.M.NEWS Entertainment Cafe during her recent lavish album listening party held at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, said that naturally she was an outgoing person but all that has changed now. “I am now under a microscopic lens…as I am more cautious of my actions now as I could make a little mistake and it gets blown out of proportion because it’s Tiwa Savage,” she added.
Speaking on her debut album titled Once Upon A Time, Tiwa said the album was deliberately delayed so as to deliver a work worthy of international rating. “This is an album that I don’t want to be rated as the usual, patchy production. I want it to have a meaning. The songs in the album are of international standard and I hope it will catch fans’ attention in America, Europe and Asia,” said Tiwa, the first African female PEPSI Ambassador.
She also added that she has dedicated a track in the album to her fiance, Tunji ‘Tee Bliz’ Balogun because “he understands my journey and career. He encouraged and pushed me a lot to attain this relative success.”
The album slated for release on 14 June is a 21-track project. Its official tracklist released shows songs such as opening tracks Once Upon a Time; Without My Heart; Kele Kele Love; Love Me, Love Me, Love Me; Folarin; and Ife Wa Gbona. Others include Wanted; Ileke; Olorun Mi; Why Don’t You Love Me; Fela Interlude; Shout Out; Get Low; and Eminado.
Tiwa has the pleasure of having top artistes featured in a rich collaboration that critics believe would make the album a success.
Among them are Don Jazzy, Ice Berg Slim, Sarkodie, Leo Wonder, Flavour and General Pype.
“I am very positive about this album as I have put in all my best while working on it. The best I can do is pray that the album becomes successful here in Nigeria and across the borders of Africa,” Tiwa stressed

Couple arrested from beating their 2 year old son to death

Culled from Azfamily.com
A Phoenix couple are facing first-degree murder and child abuse charges in the beating death of their 2-year-old son.
Phoenix police officers and Phoenix Fire Department paramedics responded to the family's apartment near 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road for a report of a child not breathing. They found the boy unresponsive and paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A witness told police that he heard the boy's father, Darnell Moses Alvarez, 24, disciplining him in the morning and again in the afternoon. He said he did not see the discipline but described it as "excessive."
The boy's mother, Davieanna Marlena Blake, 21, told investigators that Alvarez hit the child with a belt after discovering he had wet himself. Blake said she did not intervene because she did not want to upset Alvarez any further, according to the documents.

Blake said she then went to work and when she returned home, she saw her son had multiple bruises on his body and was lethargic. She told police that Alvarez did not want to take the boy to the hospital because Child Protective Services would be called, according to the court papers. The child stopped breathing while the couple argued.

Alvarez told investigators that he hit his son two times with a belt for urinating in the bed that morning. He said that later in the day, he hit the child multiple times with a belt after he defecated in his underwear and got feces all over the bathroom.

According to court documents, the toddler had large bruises on his legs, arms, buttocks, back and face. An autopsy revealed the boy had a lacerated liver, internal bleeding and bruising throughout his body.

Alvarez and Blake were arrested Thursday morning. Alvarez's bond was set at $500,000 and Blake's bond was set at $250,000.

The court documents show the couple have a history of domestic violence and police suspect that they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs
