Mercedes SL-Class 2013 revisedMercedes SL gets more equipment, lower prices and new AMG models
From June 2013, the revisedMercedes SL-Class convertible will be available from £69,960 on the road, with both the SL 350 and SL 500 now coming as AMG Sport models. The SL 350 AMG Sport will start at £69,960 - £2,390 less than the old model - while the SL 500 AMG Sport will be reduced by £3,520 to £79,970, despite an increase in equipment.
The AMG Sport specification adds extra standard equipment claimed by Mercedes to be worth £6,625, including 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, lowered sports suspension and revised damper settings. Buyers will also get an electric glass sunroof, Parktronic sensors with Active Park Assist, upgraded brakes on the SL 350, grey branded brake calipers and AMG styling inside and out. The 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox has also been improved.
Inside, there's black leather upholstery and brushed aluminium trim as standard – although the upholstery can be upgraded to Bengal Red or Porcelain nappa leather for £710 and the trim to Black Ash Wood for a further £345, Plus you can choose to change the standard Polar White exterior paint job to a choice of five metallic colours, two more than previously available, including Hyacinth Red for £690.
The SL 63 also gets an electric panoramic glass sunroof and Parktronic sensors, worth £1,500 at no change to the current list price of £110,785. The SL 65 AMG spec stays the same, as does the £168,285 price tag.
