Lead singer on band Survivor hits, Jimi Jamison, dies of heart attack


jimi jamison.jpgView full sizeJimi Jamison, who sang lead on many of Survivor's biggest hit, has died. He was 63.  The man who sang lead on some of the group Survivor's biggest hits has died.
According to an Associated Press story, Jimi Jamison, died last weekend of an apparent heart attack. Jamison was 63.
Jamison, a native of Mississippi, sang lead on Survivor hits such as "Burning Heart" and "Is This Love."
According to the story, Jamison joined the group in 1984, after it had already become known for "Eye of the Tiger," the theme song to the Sylvester Stallone film "Rocky III."
According to People Magazine, Jamison also sang lead vocals for Survivor hits like "The Moment of Truth" from "The Karate Kid," and also recorded "I'm Always Here," the theme song for Baywatch, as a solo artist
