Explosion in Apapa, Lagos

On Wednesday night, two explosions occurred in Apapa, Lagos, leaving many injured and 4 people dead.
According to Punch who broke the news, the explosions occurred almost at the same time, the first at the entrance to the Folawiyo tank farm and the second inside the facility.
It is being alleged that two petrol tankers were the cause of the explosions. The trucks are said to have caught fire, and exploded later. The explosion inside the office was quickly put out.
Ngozi Braide, the Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Office said, “I learnt that a tanker carrying fuel burst into flames. The Divisional Police Officer of the area and other policemen are at the scene of the incident.”
Rasaq Fadipe who is the Director, State Fire Service, shut down reports that it was a suicide bomber, stating that it was a gas explosion.
